Mobile Water Pump Diagnostic & Replacement Medford, OR

Starting at $299 (includes diagnostic)

A Bad Water Pump Will Overheat Your Engine, and Fast

The water pump is the heart of your cooling system. It circulates coolant from the engine through the radiator and back, constantly, every minute the engine runs. When the pump fails, that circulation stops. Coolant sits, temperatures spike, and you can warp a cylinder head or blow a head gasket in minutes of running an overheated engine.

Water pump failures usually give you warning. A weeping seal shows up as coolant dripping from the front-center of the engine. A worn bearing produces a grinding or whining noise at that location. Sometimes you see coolant loss with no obvious external leak, that can be a sign the pump's impeller has eroded and it's just not moving fluid efficiently.

We diagnose first. Then we replace with a quality pump and a new gasket, refill and bleed the coolant system, and pressure test before we leave. If your timing belt is near its interval, we strongly recommend doing it at the same time, you're already in that area of the engine and the labor overlap is significant.

Don't Drive an Overheating Vehicle

If your temperature gauge is climbing toward red, pull over. Turn the heat on full blast , it pulls heat from the engine. Do not keep driving. Engine overheating damage is some of the most expensive repair work there is, and it's almost always preventable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Should I replace the timing belt at the same time as the water pump? A: If your vehicle has a timing belt and it's anywhere near its replacement interval, yes — absolutely. You're already paying for the labor to access that part of the engine. Doing both at once saves a significant amount of money compared to doing them separately.

Q: How long does water pump replacement take? A: It varies considerably by vehicle. On some cars it's 1.5 to 2 hours. On vehicles where the water pump is driven by the timing belt, it involves more disassembly. We'll give you an accurate estimate for your specific vehicle.

Q: Can I drive with a slow coolant leak from the water pump? A: Not safely, and not for long. Even a slow leak leads to eventual coolant loss and overheating. If you're seeing coolant on the ground or the temp gauge is creeping up, stop driving and call us.

Q: Do you do cooling system repairs in Ashland and Talent? A: Yes — Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, and the full 15-mile radius from Medford are all in our service area.
